ETIAS can also be applied for conveniently without the Internet

English

The world is digital. You can see that in the ETIAS application. It can only be submitted via the Internet. There is no form on paper, you cannot send it in and no printout is necessary. For most people this is not a problem. They are used to working with laptop and cell phone. They pay for their purchases with their cell phones and store their tickets digitally. However, not everyone owns a laptop or knows how to use it. Here is a brief guide on how this group of people will still get their ETIAS approval in the future.

How to apply without the Internet

Since an Internet connection is required, the traveler must find a family member, friend or relative to fill out the application for him or her or to give him or her the device. But that is not all. Those who do not own digital equipment usually do not have an e-mail address. But this is necessary. The friend must therefore confirm the e-mail address and forward all communication to the traveler.

Not only acquaintances fill out the application, but also travel agencies and visa agencies. Although these often offer online forms, these service providers are also happy to fill out the application on behalf of the traveler.

Please note the following when filling out the form

It is best if the traveler is present when filling out the form. Then he can answer the questions directly and mistakes are less likely to occur. In any case, he must leave a copy of the passport.

From passport the data must be transferred exactly. If the number of the document is not correct, or if the validity date is incorrect, ETIAS will lose its validity.

The filling in itself takes only a few minutes. The other processes run unnoticed in the background. ETIAS compares the traveler's data with several European databases. If there is no match, ETIAS is approved within a short time. If the system returns a hit, the application is checked again manually. This may take several days. A rejection is never made lightly. If it is, the traveler can appeal against it. This is a big difference to ESTA, because if the system rejects the application, the passenger can only fly with a visa.
