Travellers have to fill in ETIAS via the internet. Passports or other proofs do not have to be submitted. Incorrect or inaccurate information on the form may mean that entry with the document is not possible. This does not mean that the application will be rejected. If, for example, the passport number is incorrect, this is often not apparent and the traveller receives his or her permit. This is only noticed at the border control and the tourist cannot board the plane.
